BTW, the Husky tractor I was referring to was not the TSC "Huskee" knockoff mentioned above....I was referring to the real Husqvarna brand,

i think my 28" Simplicity is on its 4th winter, doing an hour + each storm. it's been perfect except that i cannot adjust the idle mixture to completely eliminate no load surging. never looked into the 'special tool' to adjust it.

but i'm biased... grandad owned a Simplicity dealership small engine repair shop in the 1960's to 1980's when he passed. so i grew up with Simplicity:thumbs:

The Toro 724 OE we picked up in Jan '17 has the LCT motor (made in China), nice motor: runs quiet, lots of torque - it's a torque monster.

Throttle (RPM) range is lower vs. the older Briggs or Tecumseh motors, but it still tosses snow just as far - maybe a little further. "Guesstimating" the HP on the motor here is 7.5 / 8 HP @ full throttle.

Only issue to date has been a stuck fuel shut-off petcock, "fixed it", now the knob is kinda loose on the assembly. .. I'll fix it once it stops snowing / at end of season.

Mine has the same LCT. Hard to find a bad review. My shut off valve doesnt actually shut it down. No biggie. I run it out of fuel at the end of the year any way

Keep it out West brother would not mind it at all for the newly acquired (hopefully Saturday) snowblower collects some dust.

I had a no-load surge on my blower w/ the Tecumseh Sn*w engine. Found a video on YouTube....small air bleed screw gets a TINY piece of dirt/crud in it. Cleaned it, re-installed, runs perfectly.

    What size is yours?

I have the 1028 Medium. Biggest that fits through my rear gate. Never had a surge, Just wouldn't stay running with out choke full on. Main jet was plugged with white cruddy stuff from the ethanol..........
