A buddy of mine where I usually cut, cut down a bunch of trees in his way, stacked the 8, 10, ft logs in a pile and said come and get them. He lives on a beautiful wooded place but does not burn wood. Pure Gold.
Maybe. However many cords, it sure is easy. The old truck full twice got a little over a third of the pile. Chief
It is usually about 1/2 cord per pick up truck, so if you took 2 loads away and it reduced the pile by 1/3, that is over 3 cord. Nice score! Going a bit further, and because I am a numbers guy, since the wood is cut 8 foot, it has a value of around $85 per cord, so at 3.5 cord, that is a value of $300! Subtracting the cost of (3) 6 packs at a cost of around $7.00 (I have no idea as I never drank), we get $300-$21, to get a total value of $279. Assuming the trip is not to far, and the truck gets average gas mileage, (7) trips at $2.55 a gallon, would be another additional $17.85 in expenses. So in the end you get: 1/2 cord loads, times 7 trips, equals 3.5 cords of wood, which at $85 a cord equals almost $300 worth of wood in gross value. Expenses to get wood include (3) 6 packs of beer, 7 trips at around a gallon of gas for a 17 mile round trip, for a value of... Wait for it.... ONE DARN NICE FRIEND! (I am just being silly. Anyone who knows me in person knows I get kind of obnoxious on numbers, so I am making fun of myself).
That’s funny LodgedTree. I’m kind of a numbers guy too. I’m not telling him how much it’s worth. He will want more beer. On a more important note, that’s one cute little helper you have in your Avatar. I bet she loves being with her Daddy. Mine did when she was that age. Chief
Heck of a score there, Chief! That will keep you busy and warm for a bit, eh? What a great friend to have. He must feel the same about you!
