Ha... we call that thing the world's largest urinal... ... it was here when we bought the place. Above the garage in a spare bedroom & bath. It was never used as a whirlpool. Never hooked up. No pump... nada. Faucet works anywho... ;)

Wildwest you may want to put them now on Glucosamine Condroitin with MSM before you go to heavy meds. It helps prevent some of the damage from constant inflammation rather than just masking the pain. It works really well, my Max is on 2 a day. A lot of dogs can't handle Rimadyl, two of mine used to throw it up.
You can get these at Walmart. Make sure the ingredient have MSM in it.

Loon have you tried this on Emma? It doesn't have the side effects a lot of the pain killers have.

Rotti, the Glucosamine works for you too. :DI have used it as injections before and it worked wonders for my knees.

Lost a record setter today...my last Zebra Finch...he was somewhere's 10-11 years old...I was told they're supposed to only live 5-7 years, I was about to rename this ole boy Timex. ;)
Our outside cat named Tom (I know, real original) was sitting on the kitchen window sill waiting patiently on his breakfast to come when I noticed that the lil bird had passed... he ever so nonchalantly asks me if I have "funeral plans" for lil birdie there...cats can be so rude! ;) :hair:

That is pretty old for a finch. I have a cockatiel that is at least 24 y/o. That's not unheard of, but average is 18.

I know Lucy, I have been taking it for 12 years now, and I am sure it works as I would probably be a lot worse had I not started it.

Sorry about your little guy. All our feathery and furry friends live too short a life, yes and the scaly ones too.
Tom is just being realistic from his point of view. Some of my dogs think that way about my cats.

Loon start her on 2 twice a day for 2-3 weeks and then go to 2 once a day. I don't know Emma's weight but i would guess she is over 100lbs and that is how my big guys started.
