If you want to drive it like that you could Put several straps around tire to the rim to hold it in place. Or you could jack it up and use Starting fluid to pop it back on the rim Then pump it up with something. I have used the starting fluid trick on a garden tractor and it worked great, Just don't use too much, 3 to 5 second squirt. Edit, Oh yeah I used the same trick on a car tire once also
No doubt about it. That sucks. Getting it fixed is not cheap and no doubt you had them weighted so that increases the price. Good luck.
What happened to knock it off the bead Loon? I wouldn't drive it far like that unless you need new tires anyways...... I would personally try to get it re mounted where it sits. PITA hauling tools in to it with the snow but beats ruining a tire. Blocks and a bottle jack should get it up high enough to hang the tire on the rim. If you use ether to get it seated, remove the valve core first or the cooling gases in the tire will suck it right back off the bead.
I'd try not to move that at all if you can help it, unless its only a short distance. I know mobile service is expensive if you don't have the means to do it yourself, but there's a good chance you'll destroy the bead and or fender trying to move it. Good luck!
sure glad it's you and not me with that problem! When we see someone with nice toys, we never think about how spendy it is when things go wrong, do we. I don't think I would drive it even one foot like that. Them tires are way too expensive to risk ruining it. At work when one of the loaders or off road trucks get flat, we park em where they are until they are fixed. Ted
Thanks for the pointers gang The tractor didnt even need to be in the woods as there is lots of firewood up at the farm but guess i was just getting itchy. What happend was i was driving in and hit a snow covered limb that broke and ripped a foot long hole on the inside of tire. There was no way any work truck was gonna get in there to fix it so when i turned to get back on the path the full rim dropped into the tire which couldnt have been any better. Slowly drove it back to the farm which took an hour and a guy could almost see where it happend from the farm. There is quite abit more to this story like the 4 wheeler getting good and stuck and me walking back and forth from the house a few times and the shoveling and the flooding of the chainsaw to remove a few trees in the first picture to get the tractor out and breaking the news to my buddy who owns the tractor that the tire is toast and now dealing with trying to find another used one. Which might end up being 2 new ones? Was dead meat after the fun yesterday so went over this morning for a pic of the rip They are still calling for 10inch of snow today so went down to his grandsons house and grabbed his 4 wheeler with plow as his grandparents are in their 80s and always worry about getting trapped in their drive. Heading back over now and see if it can be replaced today?
