    Wow, an 8-rnd. 10mm 1911. Uhmm, I'll try.
You have small hands, it would be uncomfortable to shoot.
The round is too powerful for such a delightful platform.
The finish is too shiny for hunting from a duck blind.
    ... does that help? That's all I got. ;)

My first handgun was the Ruger gp100. Ihave had it 29 years now, and it still is one that I'd never give up.

I have an ammo can loaded with hard cast. I love to shoot it out of my marlin 1898 lever gun

I agree with the revolver bias. I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk 11 1/2 barrel scoped, and a 454 scoped for deer.

No. Still working through the decision making process.

    Me: I want that 10MM 1911.
Other Me: WTF do you need that for?
Me: Umm....because its a gun, duh. Plus, I don't have a 10MM and I should probably have one.
Other Me: Why do you need a 10MM? It's expensive to shoot compared to 9MM...and you're cheap, so you'd probably never shoot it.
Me: This wouldn't be a plinker, it's like for bears and stuff.
Other Me: Bears? There are no bears in Indiana.
Me: You don't know that....that's what the DNR wants you to think.
    Other Me: You're stupid.
Me: That's not the point. The point is look how awesome it is.
Other Me: Do you really want to carry a 3lb brick around in the woods in case there are "like bears and stuff"? You carried a single stack polymer gun during bow season and wished it was smaller.
Me: Ummmm, well. Hmmm. You know what, turkey season is only 5 months away. Maybe I should wait on the 10MM and get that Benelli.
Other Me: You're stupid. You don't need a $1,700 shotgun to shoot a turkey at 15 yards. You don't waterfowl hunt either.
Me: But if I got the Benelli I could if I wanted to.
Other Me: Really....you're going to goose hunt? If there's one thing you like less than being cold it's being cold and wet.
Me: Yeah, probably that AR is a better idea right now.
Other Me: This could go on forever.
    Me: I'll never give up.

So, Mrs. TD decided she wants a new/lighter/more compact EDC. No problem, I'm always up for some good-old, gun store shopping. And, of coarse, fondling some nice new firearms.
We did some online searching, and looked at what the latest fashion was in the ladies department. The Springfield came right to the top of the list. We did the touchy-feely thing, and she liked the XDm double stack. So she wants to shoot one.

:)Well! Good News! I just happen to have one in the safe...

o_O "were'd you get that?"

I thought it's be good to keep an extra 9mm around. Bought it brand-spanking-used off of a friend, and still can't figure out why he didn't want it...
I think he was just bored and wanted a G42:handshake:
