34, only going down to 25 tonight. I grabbed a load of black locust to load up the stove and make sure the wood is ready for the colder nights we are due to get in the next few days. Fired off about as fast as locust can be expected to, and thankfully sounds dry. I need to bust my azz this winter and get myself ahead.

Last time I checked, it was 9 OAT, headed down to zeeeero.:shiver:
May set the thermostat for 66 or so, just in case the stove can't keep up.
Brought in some Oak for the overnight fire, but there's Red Maple in the stove right now to bring the IAT back up.

30 here and falling fast. Supposed to be teens overnight and going forward, so we're into the hardwood. Weather is funny stuff - worked about 40 miles south (and a couple thousand feet lower altitude) and had rain all day, came home and found 6" of snow to move.

It’s some 64 ° F in the house but surely feels colder after the wee lass and I carted wood in for the bin. Alder taking flight. Soon dinner, warm stove and sleepy heads(hopefully!)

Yep, I need my beauty rest worse than the average person:(. I'll load her full at bedtime(Now) & deal with what comes at 6:00 A M. Usually still in the upper 60's & blower still cycling. I can deal with that even when it's really cold.

It’s 16 degrees, wind picking up and 74 inside! Burning a mixture of locust, silver maple, and pine. Tried an experiment tonight, baking bread on top of the stove, first time. Top middle was a bit doughy and a bit burnt on parts of the bottom. Had a slice with butter - yum.

I’ll make a few adjustments and try again.

    Stay warm - Gpsfool

Some ridiculous thing like +34 here at 9 pm. I put some fairly dry poplar on a few coals left over from the day time. Opened the draught a bit. When I heard it burning I corked it off again.
Its almost hard to run the stove slow enough to not drive us out.

What do you do to get ahead during winter? I'm getting a little stir-crazy. The dump is totally dried up. I have stuff to split, but there's ice all over my splitting spot. Looking for ideas here.

It dropped below 20F last night, running the stove a little harder. Also noticing I am having more trouble keeping the fuel temps. down, time to put the damper back in behind the radiator.
