Picture 1050 is the Cherry that was left from the clearing we did on the property the house is on, with that load and maybe two others from the Cherry that came down in the spring it should be close to three face cord once I get the rest out of the woods. Picture 1052 is the first face cord.
Cherry is some pretty stuff! My entire farms field is lined with it. I burn a good bit of it every year, seasons very quickly. I have a monster Im cutting this winter, its growing at a weird angle with chutes going straight up, and its going to end up in the field eventually anyways.
1 small slice left I asked who wanted some in another thread! Ill relay the message! I know. Sorry Woody Whipped cream makes anything look gooder!
Glad your cherry wood supply is being replenished,,,kinda missed all those posts of "burning (you guessed it) cherry" form last year.
Makes me wanna cut the 50+ footer down in my yard. It has quite a lean to it, growing away from power lines so it would be such an easy cut. But it looks pretty awesome in bloom in the spring and is one of the few fruit trees remaining in the lot from when it was orchards behind the house in the 60's. Great burning wood though and quick to season is right.
Thanks BigPapi , last year we went wild burning cherry, 6 face for the shoulder season and almost another 10 face for the regular burning season.
It's a year of burning our better wood, beech, hard maple, ash and some soft maple with oak and ironwood for the coldest weather. Our new dog loves the wood heat.
