Yep. Lowes has it as well in gallon jugs - it's one of the best cleaners & degreasers out there. Just don't use on any varnished (cabinets/furniture etc) it will eat the coating

Grizzly Adam had a home recipe for dishwasher cleaner. Sounded simple but effective.

Probably baking soda or borax and possibly vinegar.

But if you don't have one of the choppers in yours like I do they do have a food and particle trap that has to be cleaned.

We have a parannah in ours so I don't have the food issue and it stays realitivly clean inside but my sister n law is nasty inside hers, all covered in mineral deposits I guses from soft water? And it stinks inside. There pretty clean people and scrub way more than they have to off dishes, so I have no idea what's the issue. And they have a more expensive one than I do.

I have like a second or third tier kitchen aid I bought like 8 years ago or so. Replaced a bunch of plastic parts in it some that have been replaced by them in new models since with metal, but is the best dishwasher I have owned.

DW's have really jumped up in price. I think we paid just under $600 at our local good appliances store (basically same price as lowes) and like last year I put one in for my mother n law one step down from ours and I think it was $700 on sale from lowes!!!

Were you the one mentioning Tang?
    Is this it?
Thanks, I do have an itty bitty garbage disposal in there with choppers, had to pay extra for it  , ALL the models I looked at in 2014 used the filter like you mentioned. Also, (your sisters washer) we had an older dishwasher for like 15 years, this was before we had a baby so I didn't run it that often, the exit hose went up hill, so even though cycle done and washer empty, that water in the hose would get rank if too many days went by, "rinse only" cycle helped.

I checked the screen over my choppers, the SAME gross coffee film is on it too! Oh, and I found a Johnsons and Johnsons bubble bath paper tear off circle from a lid in there   Just looked again, the floor of the interior is cloudy like the glasses. Hmpff.

Any idea if TSP is ok for the stainless steel interior?

Dammit! These jeans when combined with Cascade Platinum still don't appear clean! No water spots though. :hair::p

Someone mentioned tang, but it wasn't me. We do use citric acid now and then, I think thats what they are trying to get with the tang. I wouldn't want to coat my dishes with sugar...

I have a corner that is a little lower than mine and it has a Cluny film in that corner where it doesn't drin all the way. But the most part my glasses come out clear. Mine is a kitchen aide and it's like 8 years old.

Over the last month I've used citric acid, Borax, washing soda, vinegar, TSP, LemiShine rinse aid (has citric acid in it), with some success. Note to self, loads of TSP only (likely too much too) leave glasses cloudy. I think the most help was learning to program the dishwasher cycles, its harder than programming a VCR yooperdave  . Anyway I have more spray arms working more often now, and found a temperature boost for both wash and rinse cycles, it takes 2:15 minutes for a cycle but spares my hands/wrists from daily hand washing, still need to hand wash every few weeks, but atleast that mystery coffee film is under control...

Lil one wants to make the home made slime recipe over Christmas Break, we have all the ingredients now
