Few more. Was a good day. Lot of riding, looking for critters. Where I was is an amazing place. It’s hard to get to, and as you can see dangerous. That’s half the fun.
Headed inside. Did some shortening on the 372 bb piston and reassembled the 7900. It runs, but too dark to cut. Tomorrow.....
The cabin is only accessible by snow machine or ski plane. There most likely be more than a hundred people that will see the place before the wilderness reclaims the area. The cabin was just rebuilt. It is a ancient trappers cabin that fish and wildlife rebuilt.
Good evening Tom. I'm doing well, how are you doing? Great pics again and thank you for sharing them.
And is 22 miles from the trail head. I maintain the trail has over 10 miles over water. There are only two of us that know the trail. Anyone can follow the tracks, as long as the wind don’t cover the trail. There are multiple trails that spur off. Is a difficult trip when you know where you going.
This is the crazyest, random piece of nature. It was 10 miles up the valley from the cabin. It’s a sediment with round river rock at the top at the base of a bluff. At the edge of a creek I was riding up. Not big enough to make the rock. However it’s about 15 miles up a valley from the Chasanna river that makes those rocks. And the headwaters is a glacier about 25 river miles from the convergence.
Anyone do any fun saw stuff today? I see that Kevin was playing with some pistons, prolly made some awesome saws.
My sawing was with the 261 (I needs to visit Kevin) there we several times the trees fell across the streams and creeks I was transiting. 10-20 inches. This saw has the 2nd chain I square filed. Cut both dead a green equally well. I only cut enough to get by. Was happy how fast it made the cuts. My buddy that came with, noticed how long the chips were. Picked a handful up and to my surprise he blurred. “I like me some square chain, where..why you holding out”. Gave him the back story. Now I have his chain to practice on.
