Easy to get lost in a state with 2600 lakes and ponds in it... ;)

Stinny great music like you said. It is sad to see the town disappear. It has happened a few time up in Canada as well.

they did the same thing here but it was the army corp of engineers to make a flood control dam for not only around here but pittsburgh
the tygart damm was done in the mid 30s early 40s i think it is set up for being a hydro dam but that is still talks just used now for flood control and water thorough way for barges down the line

Funny New Hampshire has the tallest peak in New England. I don’t think I would call the presidential range “flatland”

My daughters always called Lafayette Mountain, "Butt Cheek Mountain" because of its shape. (For those that do not know, it has two rounded peak with a valley down the center.

One of the biggest issues my wife and I ever had was regarding our daughter Kaelyn. She tried to claim she was a New Hampshirite, but as all Mainer's know, if you are born in Maine, you are a Mainer, if you are not...you are not. She wanted to steal her birthright...can you imagine! :jaw:

We have people who have lived here longer than I have been alive, but are regarded as "flatanders", where as someone who was born in Maine, but moved (like Cold Finger) is a Mainer and always will be. We are territorial like that. :faint:

Ah so flatlander just means you weren’t born in Maine that makes sense . I guess. Can you be a Mainer and a flatlander like say some of the hipsters in Portland?

We call people from Massachusetts, flatlanders, and boy, are they ever!  :hair: Folks from Maine, we call Maniacs. We should know, my wife and I have Family all over Maine. And they qualify as Mainers, been there forever.
