The P43 has had a mini-clean. Brush down the fire box, clean the pot and empty the ash can. Waiting for the P61a to cool down so it can get the same treatment.

Currently eating breakfast - 2 eggs scrambled with cream, butter, maple syrup and cinnamon.

36* here, decks/walks/steps/paths, done. Paths for dog walk & to the sheds, done. Cars/"driveway", done. Sun is out strong, so everything I did is almost all clear & drying.
Time for the 2nd :coffee: and watch some DVR Hockey.

P61a has had its mini-clean. Now to take second shower of day - after sweating up a storm snow blowing / shoveling, then playing with pellet ashes I smell like :fart: or maybe even :deadhorse:

Mine have done that for 20 years.

Once you get use to it you might actually like it. I do since it frees up a hand to change chute direction while moving. Also since I have hydrostatic drive I can change speed and change direction without stopping the auger.

If you need to stop the auger, a quick partial release of the drive lever should disengage the auger

Just like not thinking about using the bike's clutch, shifter and both brakes properly (sometimes all at the same time), this will become second nature and not even thinking about it soon enough.

Unless we have a light winter. Lets hope you never learn to use all the levers :p

Well, that's just it, I still have to have my left hand engaging the wheels but the left hand is also needed for the chute direction and the chute angles. So it doesn't really help at all.

My hand isn't big enough to do that. If the levers were on the bottom, that might work okay for me. But with them on the top, I can't do that with my thumb and I end up having to release the handle completely so have no control over it changing direction on a bump. and yes, I have major problems with the clutch on my bike too (well, not major, but I can only reach with one finger until it is partially pulled in).

Eh, I'll get used to it - but meanwhile you will all have to listen to me b*tch
