    Probably either cut the length of tenon in the handle or the slot on end where wooden wedge goes in I'm thinkin'.

    Bingo...correct on both counts......the saw is called a Dozuki.....Japanese saw that cuts on the "pull" stroke....Twister

    Ive got a double handled axe that needs some final treatment. Hopefully try this out but it would be best I find a half full jug of this stuff then put it back after im done.

    JIMBETHYNAME........The mallet is used for tapping the wood chisels....my dad made it from Ash back in the 80's.....my son got a hold of it in his early teens thinking it was suitable for whacking at whatever he was whacking at the time...so it's a little marred and dirty but still pretty much 100% usable...and it does get used!!...Twister IMG_1521.JPG

    Thats what i use for woodhandles (axe, knife and what else)
    Contains: Linseed Oil, Rosin, Pine Oil, Orange Peel Oil, Isoaliphatics.
    I used a Google Translater so i hope the Words make any sense.
    Pretty neat stuff! It seals the wood but makes it still breath.

    When treating a new handle I like to add some color , mix one part oil stain to three or four parts BLO for the first coat.
