As far as tools go one is none, two is better and three is gooder, so six or more of everything is my motto.:)

At work there's (1) 7/16" wrench in the entire shop, that blows me away. Note to self go to my shop a grab a handful. :)

I have a problem with drills. The other Dewalt tools are in the garage (circular saw, reciprocating saw, jig saw, grinder, radio, etc). I also have a Milwaukee scope light and Infrared Thermo.. That are not shown.

And for those that have old 18 V DeWalt tools like I do? They sell an adapter to put the new 20 V Lithium Ion batteries on them.

I think the adapter was $30 on Black Friday. Regular price was $40? Either way all my old 18 volt tools that have no use because my batteries are junk are now useful. The new 20V lithium batteries are far better and even with the adapter they are still half the weight of the old 18V.

Thats what the world is coming to now days. My boy told me that they dont have shop class anymore in school. Thats nuts! I've been blessed to learn certain skills that folk with college degrees go and pay someone to do for them. But I have also aquired a vast amount of hand tools and power tools along the way. It's okay the old lady likes purses and shoes. I prefer guns, tools, huskys, wood!!!

I learned a lot more from non degree folks who learned by doing. I also have a philosophy of my own passed down by my father. Use what you know to figure out what you don’t know. He had his faults like anybody but that man WAS MacGyver and could fix anything.

I would like to think I have learned to do the same but I take far more time to figure things out. He just had the talent.

My family has been blessed for many generations with very hands on do it type of people and I am lucky enough to have it passed to me.....

Many schools I attended did not teach shop class for fear of law suits. That was almost 20 years ago. I can only imagine how it is now.

Wether it’s a parent or a mentor kids need these skills handed down to them....

Not all people with college degrees are like that. I have one of those pieces of paper. I can also turn a wrench and know my way around the wood shop pretty good.

I have to agree my education consists of an associate of science, heavy equitment degree, Class A CDL with doubles, triples, tanker, hazmat and an ESCO Universal license, as well as a bunch of trades licenses for my job. I am also a very good woodworker and was a woodworker in a previous life as well as run a part time furniture building buisness from home.

I learned the majority from non college types however I have also learned a lot from college grads. My class A trainer was one smart person and had two Associates degrees that she never used because she would rather travel and be happy.

Her training has kept a roof over our heads on more than one occasion....

If only the part time stuff made very good money, I'd be very happy.
