Now I must get back to moving pellets. I move 5 bags and then sit down for about 10 minutes.

I know. How many times do you hear about someone in great shape, runs marathons and drops dead of a heart attack. The guy I work for is in great shape, hikes regularly year round, climbs mountains, bikes, and does the Pumpkin Man Triathlon yearly at age 65. And is on BP, cholesterol and other meds.

Somewhere in the 99 recorded bp readings on my machine there is a 51/31 reading that ain't exactly good either.

I never had to fast. The tech just asks if i have eaten or not and orders the test appropriately. Different ranges are found acceptable depend on when you last ate I suppose. One year i did fast and my appointment was at 4pm or so after work. So i was starving. The tech laughed at me and said I could have eaten, it didnt matter.
Despite our best efforts genetics are hard to over come. And besides, docs try to fit everyone in the same box. 120/80 is probably best for the majority but perhaps not for certain folks. Same with cholesterol.

Dad has had strokes and heart attacks but his diet wasnt good like many of the older generation before they knew about what did what. One of my brothers is on BP med and has been for a few years-he was a mail carrier who was always walking and climbing many many stairs (which did in his knees). I eat good. Not perfect and not terrible and weight has been a battle all of my life-get that from mom I guess who was the same way.

Just like IBS, sometimes its all in the jeans

I still handle 40 lb bags of pellets, my brother went to 20 lb or so a long time ago, he is younger than I am and has been on bp and other meds for years. One never knows.

ETA: I was slinging 50 lb bags of chicken feed until this fall. I just took my time.

My father died of a heart attack at 42. He had high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Drank like a fish. I am hoping it was his lifestyle that did him in. I go to the doc regularly and my cholesterol numbers are great and bp is a little high. 130ish/low80. But thats only when i am at the docs. At home i average 123/79. I have been on lisinipril since the age of about 25 when i had a hole in my heart repaired (atrial septal defect). Get an echo every two or three years and cardiologist says everything looks great. But knowing my family history he is cautious.

I also take a big aspirin every day in case the procedure to fix the hole isnt 100% effective. Although all the tests say so.....but if its not, it can cause those platelets to activate and cause a stroke. They dont like any irregular surfaces.

Taking a break today and maybe even getting to watch a Pats game that wasnt pre recorded. About all I am planning on is getting up some final acorns in the front yard and making some room for 4 ton of pellets in the garage tomorrow.

Yesterday was spent cleaning out 300 feet of culvert by the road that was blocked up with wet leaves and not allowing the water to move to the pipe that takes it across the street. The town use to do this with machines but not on many years. The only machines now are me, a rake and a wheelbarrow to haul all the wet leaves across the street
