You're close. Keep your file angles the same for now, but rather than push in to the corner so much, lift a little more on the file so the corner of the file lines up with the corner of the tooth. You have what's known as a side beak. It'll cut, but will be grabby. The opposite, a top beak, will cut, but will be slow. Get it right in the corner and it will be fast and smooth
