I'll be raking up oak leaves today. We don't even have an oak tree.

My Bradford pear tree is just starting to drop its leaves. On the plus side, the wind storm took down all the pine needles at once, and even swept them off my roof!

No doubt that most leaves dropped later this year. I'm usually done with yard clean up well before December.

Well, the extra wood we got does take precedence over yard clean up. I won't have everything done, but I'm trying! Sounds like we get real cold stuff in 2 weeks.

Good morning, low 30's to low 50's and coffee is on.
Scored another truckload of ash yesterday, I've been sleeping pretty good at nite!
It's off to the workhouse with me, today is my Monday.
    Enjoy the weekend, be safe.

Gonna go get Alice ( my daughter)from her mother today then later in the afternoon drive to Seattle. We’ll meet up with my aunt there so we can drive to Lynden which is in North Washington near the Canadian border by about 10- 20 mins. It’s a Dutch farm town. We had a tradition of going with my brother and grandmother when growing up, now passing that onto my daughter. There’s a Christmas parade that gets quite nice with their tractors and trailers. Santa is the mainstay of course but these floats get very creative.

Afterwards there’s usually dinner at this plaza with Koi fish in the pond. I’ll post some pictures later to explain. Very quaint and comfortable. After all this, sometimes we stayed at a nearby hotel and went to the border in the morning or it was earlier in the day depending on the time we drove up there. When we did get up to the border, we were after Kinder eggs which are chocolate eggs with a prize inside. Another kid story.

One story that’s also part of this is that Lynden has also a really cool bunch of light displays for this time. Outside of town, there’s a lot of these moving displays from a tree to a star arrangement to this golfer that putts the ball and shows the ball going in the tee. Well on these trips I was younger, my aunt brought apple cider we made from her trees earlier in the fall. I was enjoying sipping it while we saw the lights and it was a warm feeling. Then the lights were just a nice bit of exciting... Might have been in the fridge a little while... being fruit juice...totally accidental. :) Anyways nice trips and glad this is looking to stay traditional.

glad Im not the only one. I have an oak in the neighbors yard on both sides of the house, none in my own yard. Actually, I only have 3 trees in my yard. A red and a Japanese maple, and a big pine. Most of my leaves are down, just a few left on the Jap maple....but the oaks just dont want to give up the leaves at all this year.

I need to go to my work to fix something on the Bronco, suppose I will take a few trips through Midwinter 's dump while Im in town.

Hate it when this happens. Didn't happen to me this time. I got it off the web, but it reminded me of some of my "misadventures"

It will be worth doing, if it works as it's supposed to. Hope you make it thru the weekend.

I don’t rate pain by a number, I rate it by the sounds of expletives through their force of enunciation, number of times said and more importantly the degree of seriousness of said expletive. But that hurts like a mo....
