Ted, is drinking Decaf Tea I don't think his little heart could handle a full 4 shot espresso BB of Paradise
WoodHenge My messroom at work has a nice gas heater that pumps out warm air. I'm using this free resource to draw out the last drops of moister from these cuts of oak. Gonna see how they burn tonight. BB
Worked like a charm. Average stove temps 400/450. Looks like I'm gonna be burning loads of Oak this winter BB
That:s great! How much oak can you put in your canteen room without people complaining? I guess if you just do 12-15 splits at a time, who would care?
Luckily I work alone and receive visits from management about as often as the Sun icing over in summer. The 15 split method seems to be a good idea and one I will adopt - Cheers! The next batch of Oak is warming itself by the blower as I write Life's a J-Oak and then you burn it. BB
How long do you leave them next to the heater? Can you get ahead, or does the batch drying go directly into the stove? No reason not to do it that way, except if some artic air changes the supply and demand equation.
Not a problem, MW. I'm in front, but have enough Ash stashed at home to keep the Arctic Circle warm These blow dried chunks of love help supplement the Ash from the stash, if you follow my meaning? lol I use the ash to promote a healthy bed of embers and then on goes the Oak. It's all a learning game in my first year, but with your wise offerings I'm sure I will be the Champ of the woods come this time next year. Cheers! BB
Out-Foxed. On burial duty today. Mr Fox took a blow from a tin box on wheels and paid the price. Not a nice thing to see early in the morning, but that's life. One minute your 'ere and the next your brown bread. Bb
Sooo...Why did you off the fox? In the US we let the wildlife have run of the park, unless they are a threat somehow. EDIT: Never mind, figured it out. Car accident. Poor blighter.
Once in a while I'm allowed time off from Park life. These pictures are from one of those vacations. Grand Canyon - November 1999. The Canyon was the highlight of my trip across the pond. I also got to see the San Diego Chargers v's the Broncos @ the Qualcomm stadium - Magic! I've been a Broncos fan ever since BB
I'm glad you got to see the Grand Canyon. The American Southwest is stunning, and ALL of our national parks and monuments are treasures that future generations will hopefully enjoy.
