With the down-flow configuration, all the heat would be blown out across the floor of the garage. The return air would be pulled from higher up and this would create an ideal circulation pattern.....instead of the heat being blown out up at head level (or higher) and then rising to ceiling only to be drawn down to waist level of the return filter area.

The inside of the stand you built could house a plenum to direct the air flow out and away.

Either configuration will work, it's just one will work better, that's all.

Went for hike to the back corner with the wife just to make sure we still had ticks and to pull the cards on the cameras.
We came upon this tree. Felt solid. Interesting how it looks like the top 2/3 blew off and there were exit wounds, but no entrance. I'm guessing lightning. The lightning trees I've seen before had strip of bark and wood missing running the length of the tree. IMG_5014.JPG IMG_5016.JPG IMG_5017.JPG

That was the original plan but I decided to go up because I need the space under it. Small garage and using a 125,000 btu floor heater doesn’t work well if there’s cars in the garage.
It takes forever vs using the old ceiling mount I had that worked great.

My assumption is that this would be similar?

Would that be wrong? All I have to do is flip it and move the filter. Not much to it.

Give it a try and then you'll know if you're satisfied or not.

Are you hooking up any trunk line to the plenum....or just the plenum?

The plan is to use insulated flex duct along the side walls with 4 vents in each side and two on the front wall.

My garage has a sloped roof 15.5 ft in the front and 10 at the back wall. I already have two box fans mounted at the inside peak to push hot air down and man does that work good...

CSS almost 3 cords this weekend. My back is sore. Walnut and sugar maple mainly.
Here's a couple during pics. I forgot an all finished picture.

It has to be the same thing, I have never seen that before your avatar and I was curious about Trogdor, googled it way back when you made it your avatar, and laughed out loud when I saw it on that vacuum for sale. Hey, if you pay shipping maybe they will send the board for free and you can fix it up?

7-1/4" long, 9" handle, and it finished just under 1 3/4 lbs. This will be for setting turning blocks on the lathe spur. He did 90% of the work. I drilled the hole and fitted the handle. I thought the head was maple, but it has a light yellow streak. Very dense and no checking. The handle is maple. He did pretty ok for an 11 year old.

It was a busy weekend here. A bit of forging, cooking, woodworking, splitting and stacking.

The driveway wood pile was locust and cottonwood. I split and stacked the locust and made a new stack west along a planting bed. Just under a half cord.

This uglies rack was emptied and moved to the back porch.

There were some uglies in the pile.

The cottonwood is stacked for maybe next fall. Plenty of room to add on top of this as needed.

After picking the cottonwood out of the pile, I found more locust at the bottom that needs splitting. This added to the locust stack will put me over a half cord thete.

The wind was kicking and it was in the low 40's this afternoon. I had a fire going all day with uglies and I made some turkey soup from stock made yesterday. My daughter made blueberry muffins to go with it for supper.

After supper was about 2 hours in the shop helping my son with his mallet project.

    I'm just about wiped out.
