I shot this four point buck at 7:15 am opening morning of our deer rifle season.

It wasn't my greatest shot, but it was walking straight toward me, and there wasn't a lot to hit, and it was looking to jet.

Right shoulder shot got enough lung with the 7mm Rem mag, waited 15 minutes, and it only went 30 yards.

Meat will go in the freezer soon.

I like those 1.5 year olds. They're big enough to be worth your while, but small enough to still be real tasty.

The bruisers are good for bragging rights, but the younger ones are much better table fare, hands down. Be some easy eating for sure.

4:42 pm hunting cut off, 4:50 me and very nice deer ( too dark to see m or f , just unloaded gun) eyeing each other up , 4:51 deer departs at warp speed. Second time in 5 days. too dark for pic and not able to fumble phone out of pocket anyway.

image.jpg I rattled in his northern cousin to about 40 meters today. I have my heart set on another deer, so I shot him with my phone...might as well have used a potato though.

I've shot quite a few like that. 3 of the last 4 I've killed were just like him. I'll probably shoot more in the future too.

My biggest deer was an 8 point that weighed 228. I'll take the little ones anytime and don't hesitate to shoot them when I see them.
