Yes. He sits and patiently waits to go track the deer lol.

If he can see me shooting that is. If he can't see me and heard a shot, he gets a little antsy but not bad.

Wrangled all the goofballs and got them to vet today, whew!! Couple hour ordeal between the drive then a long appt for all 4 of them, and of course the entire east side of the city knew Blackie dog was there, feel kinda bad he about broke everybody's eardrums (He shrieks like crazy when he is happy. When he is apprehensive. Whenever.) Didn't get the second wildcat trapped for boosters. We were the only ones there, I asked to get Blackie in an exam room instead of the 15 minute check in process at the front desk with ceramic tile and 40' long room (his shrieking was echoing too well). NOPE, instead the 15 minute check in lasted a lot longer as www or I could quite him for a minute or two between sentences.

Anyway poor Lila wildcat peed her pants (and cat carrier) while taking her out in the exam room, I don't blame her with all the stress, but the vet place had ZERO paper towels in the exam room. Nor towels of any kind. I went to the common bathroom, one residential hand towel on the ring, no extra TP. The exam table, her entire back 1/2, as well as lil one's and WWW's clothes and hands had urine all over it (and mine after the fact while I restrained her for shots, yes, 15 minutes later still 3 measly papertowels). Asked for paper towels, we were offered 3. Asked two more times and got one more small handful of 2. UMMMMM, I worked as a Vet Asst back in the day, every room has to be sanitized atleast somewhat before the next customer, and since when does a place leave urine dripping off the exam table or an animal sitting in urine in a carrier? Even the barn vets back in the day had a bucket of bleach water to swab the table with.

Asst comes in to take temps on all 4. Lifts tails and sticks it in from behind. Of course all of them tried to run and she pulled them back by the tail and stuggled since every animal including ours tries to sit with the thermometer you know where. I'm sorry, that is one of the first things asst's learn. AND yes, they were all scraping feet on the urine soaked table, we just kept thinking someone was coming soon with papertowels and disinfectant or bleach spary, NOPE, never happended. I felt bad for for that asst and our cats and Blackie, when it came to big Blondie the asst did the same thing on the floor, HELLO?, hard to prevent a 70lb dog from struggling to walk away holding by a short tail and then sitting down from the discomfort, I was kneeling with her to keep Blondie still and quickly put my bent knee under her to hold her up, sorry guys, this elementary vet stuff, ELEMENTARY, easier on the asst and MUCH better for the pet to do it correctly. (PS, there's a much more humane way to take rectal temps on cats and kittens too, and its gently insert verses stick it in from behind. No lubrication either, I did not see the prep but WWW just told me.

Vet came in, yikes. I'm sure she got the vet part right ( I just hope so, because she flipping shut us down and did whatever she wanted). She was condescending and overbearing. She talked over the few questions WWW and I were able to get out, never bothered to listen, she didn't even let us finish one sentence the entire hour, we gave up. NOPE, did not get an answer to any of them, but instead some long winded blowhard answer with medical terms in it that was way over our heads, lots of sentences, unnecessary loud voice, no pause between breaths, and it ended with sarcoma. Hmmmm. I said I don't understand several times though she did not acknowlege me and talked louder and faster, then finally asked AGAIN if sarcoma was cancer. She said yes. I responded, ok, I don't understand what cancer in an 18 y/o cat at the injection site has to do with giving our kitten a shot though you do it in a different place now when I said plainly the breeder was worried about autoimmune disease from that particular vaccination.

There is a difference between simple business transactions and paying another for a service much less with the health of your animals.

Lucky they were dealing with you and not me. At the end, had it be me having to pay for that kind of service/treatment would have garnered them a double barrel verbal barrage that they definitely would not have liked or soon forgotten. At this stage of my existence I have virtually "0" patient/tolerance for that style B.S. service and have no problem advancing my dis-satisfaction as a paying customer. May not have changed anything, but I would have gotten my point to them VIVIDLY.

I'm ashamed I did not speak up, as that is not my nature to sit still and watch. My effing life changed forever 10 years ago from Scleroderma, I am not able to do vet visits by myself anymore. I had in the back of my mind needing WWW there (he has Thanksgiving vacation today), and just getting into a vet period, as there are a total of 3 up here. Sorry for the deep personal chit here, but I could not agree with you more. Thank You. Whats his face is in the doghouse too now, I should have had more support.

OK, phone call not sufficient, I will write a letter instead. Who knows if they care, but hopefully someone realizes and tries to make some changes.

Wildwest, I am so sorry. What a nightmare. Sadly more and more common. My vet retired and i can't find a decent vet whom i would actually trust.
When Lucy got diagnosed with IBD one of the vets insisted i put her on Royal canine prescription food. The first ingredients are Brewers rice and chicken byproduct meal and they want me to pay $ 82 for 30lbs of such low grade food. The next option if that didn't work would be Royal canine hydrolized food. That one sports ground chicken feathers as one of their "easy to digest" ingredients. So I started cooking for Lucy instead. I think they get paid dividents by the dog food manufacturers and the chemical companies for peddling their most expensive meds, never mind side effects.
By the way do you know that you don't have to do yearly vaccination boosters unless you live in the city and have to get your dog license. There used to be a lot of research including a class action lawsuit on the web. Dr Schultz was one of the leading veterinarians working actually for the government at one time. Unfortunately most of it has been taken off and suppressed. I vaccinate everybody once when they come in or twice if they are very young under 6 months. Never had a problem including Feleuk cats. Vaccines cause a lot of health problems.
I hope you have another vet in the area who is better.

Yes, I agree. I've been at that point for some years now. Especially where my animals are concerned. Who do they think they are treating decent concerned people and innocent animals like that.

It just sucks when you are too ill to speak up. I can barely be a 1/2 descent mom much less keep up with laundry/dishes/vacuuming/dusting, I literally don't have any extra to tell dipchits this is not OK.

I feel so badly that the vet, indeed it seems the entire staff, were either incompetent or complete azzhats. I go to a clinic that has 3 vets and all know me by name (as doe the receptionists). They know I am able to assist with holding animals for shots and temp taking - but if they knew that I couldn't they would have someone else in there. I've had ill animals that made messes and they gave me a roll of towels for clean up - even when the mess was out in my vehicle and not in their office. Each vet has had to give me some sort of bad news (I've had a lot of animals the last 30 years - holy cr*p, I've been seeing all the vets that long) - they have all spoken in a way that I could understand, asked questions of me to make sure I understood the situation, alternatives and risks, answered my questions in English, and NEVER, EVER, once talked down to me.

I understand that some vets are strictly animal people, not people people, (heck, that pretty much describes me) but it didn't even seem as if your vet was one of those. And it is hard to speak up when all you want to do is get your pets taken care of so don't want to make waves while treatment is in progress.

I am so angry that you and your crew were treated that way!

I'm sorry wildwest. Being so new i didn't realize. My main problem is that i don't want to upset my animals, they know by my tone of voice when i get mad. So i often have to bite my tongue for their sake. When a vet yelled at me before because i wouldn't let her vaccinate my already ill dog. Rider almost went over the counter to teach her manners. His front feet were on it and he growled at her. I didn't ask him to go off and sit, i just looked at her. The message should have been pretty clear. 6 months later he died of bone cancer that she didn't even find.

Bogieb, the sad thing is a lot of the vets are not even animal people, they are money people and you are just an inconvenience they have to put up with to make that money.
There are still good ones like yours but they are hard to find.
It's the same with human DRs. I have walked out of a dr's office before and told him he was fired and that i had never experienced such incompetence and didn't expect to be billed.
    I never got a bill.

Just as Rotti stated, it is lucky it didn't happen to me.

Point blank would've asked them "why are you talking over me and avoided my questions/concerns?"

Just get P. Offed thinking about it!
