All over with here. Desert is eaten, dishes are done, looking forward to leftovers this evening!

One guest showed for meal time.

No breakfast, only turkey dinner at lunch, and no supper and Im still stuffed! Plenty of leftovers for the next 2 days. Ended up cooking all day, eating, then watching a couple movies with Dawn.

In the end, she told me to go. She felt fine enough to be on her own. At 15, I do trust her to be on her own, I just didn't want to leave her at home sick by herself.

We are home now, and she's feeling a little better after a nap.

Shepherd's pie. Made with hamburger, brown gravy, onion soup mix, corn and potatoes. One of my very favorites! Just me and the misses (and new kitten) so we are pretty easy to please.

And tomorrow, beef tips served over egg noodles: my wife's very favorite beef dish. Not sure is Phoebe (the kitten) likes it or not but no matter, we have been making it for 30 years and have yet to throw any away.

Pretty calm around here, all family is far away. Still, nothing worthwhile to complain about so all is well here. Hope all is well with my extended FHC 'family' as well. Some of us are doing better than some others, but at the moment all that I know of that are not doing great are doing better and hopefully on the mend. Which is about as good as it gets in this life I think.

Best wishes to all on this forum and their families and loved ones.

    Brian

Thanksgiving at our friends place was awesome. It was a lot of fun, all the people pitching in and watching football. They all loved the Riesling we brought for dinner.

Our Thanksgiving at the nursing home was fun and relaxing. We brought cold shrimp, enough for the dozen-or-so residents and family, and other people brought a variety of pies. The chef roasted the turkey in the oven in the galley, so the unit was filled with delicious turkey smell. The bird was nice and moist. We ate at noon, but some of the residents were going to their families homes later, so they got to double dip! Me, I didn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. Mom doesn't talk much anymore, but she liked the attention, and ate everything in front of her, including some of the dip with a spoon. Oh well.
