If the saw that exploded wasn't a Stihl, then yes, they could probably sue for the undue association or at least demand a retraction. I also wonder if the saw actually exploded; it would be in bits and pieces if it did.
saws don't kill people, people kill people. very misleading title on article, saw did not explode the vapors in an enclosed area ignigted.
What I gather (so take it for what you will), the saw was the source of the fuel and vapor. Vapor ignites, fuel in saw goes up. The severity of burns was very bad to go through 85% of the thickness of skin. So it almost had to be in his hands, and or the fuel got all over him. So fake news, I don’t think so. We didn’t get the complete story though. The news outlet probably didn’t either.
It was a chitty way to go for the guy. I am notorious for lighting a smoke up just as soon as I kill the saw. Be it for a rest or refueling. loon
It was. Burns are horrible and it appears these were probably third degree. It is a lesson to us that are still here that it does not take much; one careless slip up and it can be our last.
It's a story title and even a story itself, often blatant misinformation or purposeful half a story, for the express purpose of appealing to the interests of a rags' readers for which it serves not only to serve an agenda but to drive ad revenue. Make that AD REVENUE. - click bait.
