Those few basic mods are where a lot of the power comes from in a port job. If you can pick up 10-15% with a muffler mod, then a little more with a timing advance and base gasket delete, you are not going to be off much from the 30% a port job gets you. These are basic things most people can do their self and they are easily reversed if you want to go back to stock.
Especially once the internal baffle breaks loose and enables the built in muffler mod. I think Stihl engineered that baffle to break/rust through once the saw has reached its break-in point and can handle full power output.
The one I ran had a broken baffle and wire mesh filter. I have here now working on it. I should get a video of it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
The 441 earning its keep. It’s-15 and she’s running like a champ. The pile is about 50 inches tall and it took a 24 count top to bottom. Sucks in hard to the dawgs. Like this saw more every time I run her.
That pile should keep ya warm for a while ...even at -15 ! Bet I didn’t take too long to cut em either
I usually get about 15mins per tank on my 441cm ... if I had dry logs set-up like you I could cut a whole-winters worth on 1/2 fuel lol ... do you split or just feed em as is ?
The thing is tho. In Tok, 15 below is almost unseasonably warm. Often if Glennallen has 40 below Tok has 50 below. When it hits 50 below in Glennallen, I don't even want to think about how cold it is in Tok. I've seen 62 below here at my place , Rope has seen colder than 70 below at his. The general rule about getting enough wood home. When you think you have enough. Better get a few more cord. At least !!! And these are all ambient temps . Not wind chill. It blows more where I am than where Rope is. But nothing like Delta Jct.
Whew that’s cold ... it’s about 35 where I’m at ... we get maybe 5 days of subzero cold here year ... I’d stock up 30 cord just in case if it got to -70 ... wtf do u wear to stay warm
As is, I try and bring home logs that I don’t have to split. I harvest trees from a wildfire, standing dead.

These were taken on The Slope . near Nuiqsut. In the first 2 I had been working for about 2 1/2 hours , drilling blast holes. Between 70 and 75 below wind chill. The ambient was around 45 below. In the 3rd it's again around 45 below but less of a breeze. 60 some below wind chill. You can see in the first 2 that I'm pretty iced up. It was getting hard to breath thru my face mask.
