WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) -- Authorities say a Pennsylvania man who was seriously burned when his chainsaw exploded has died from his injuries.

Lehigh County officials say 68-year-old David Baker was working at his Warrington Township home when the explosion occurred Thursday. He was taken to a hospital but died from his injuries the following day.

Warrington Township is about 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Philadelphia.

The death has been ruled an accident but remains under investigation. Authorities have not said what may have caused the explosion.

No other injuries were reported in the explosion.

This is modern media reporting. If there's one thing I've learned after reading thousands of firearm related stories, and then following up on the real story later is this. Modern "reporters" will outright fabricate enough facts to make a story printable. They will also substitute outright lies in order to sensationalize everything about their story in order to grab more column inches. Somebody died and there was a chainsaw involved somehow. Those are the only to parts of the story I believe. These days, if the guy had a chainsaw or a gun somewhere in his house, and died. from falling down the stairs while carrying it, it would read "Man dies in firearm/chainsaw/whatever, related incident." If somebody was walking out of a store with a box of ammo they'd just bought and was hit by a car crossing the street, it would read "Man dies after acquiring high powered ammunition for very dangerous rifle."

This was about 20/30 minutes away from me. So the story goes, was working in a confined area and vapors ignited. He died from severe burns.

Sad day regardless blacksmithden this fellah lost his life...

    Pete,

The man is from Warrington township in York county not the Warrington township in Bucks county. I was wonder why they sent him to Lehigh Valley Hospital (Allentown).

The MS 461 was recalled not too long ago because of a faulty fuel line that could cause a fire and possible explosion. I had to take mine in for repair. Just sayin'.....

I dunno. Accidents happen. I mean, he has passed and all. No need to pizz on a grave here. I’m a compassionate person and think more along the lines of having condolences for the family and those who knew him.
