    I can't help but agree.....:)

They're stuffed, sewn with fabric, and painted. You can squeeze them a little, real cool. I was shocked when I found out the woman who makes them isn't from here, but grew up on a huge grain farm out west on the prairies. Not sure how long she's been here, but I couldn't tell she wasn't from here by her speech, and I'm guessing she's only in her 30s. (And I can usually tell if someone isn't from here the second I hear them talk). Very talented lady, and very nice to talk to. Lives a couple hours from my home, maybe an hour from where I work and live part time with mom. Sells her stuff at different craft fairs around the area, and a few stores also sell her stuff I believe. I try to get a couple every chance I get. I get a bulk discount at this point haha.

She also makes a few other little birds, and has recently started doing a few Jays and cardinals, real nice but I simply didn't have the money to get one of those this time around. But I fell in love with these little puffins.

The sun was short lived. It started raining again, then finally stopped when the wind started to blow. It's dropped 8 degrees already.

Just got home after going to Chuch and then out to lunch. Starting to get some lake effect and it's blowing pretty good. Perfect afternoon for reloading ammo for the shooting season. Today we are wet tumbling brass for 9mm, .357 and .308. The Dillion 550B is going to be kicking out .44mag with Hornady 200gr HP for hunting and 240gr Berry's plated bullets for plinking.

May give the powder coating of cast 9mm a try today if things go well, but I need to focus on .357, .44 and .38 Special today. I wanted to pop off some .38 the other day a found my boys had shot up everything but my self/home defense rounds.

Just found this thread and have been wondering how (if) you made out (duh, huh? of course you would post in this thread).

Great news, very glad to hear it.

So you are all done with everything having to do with the whole power- outage thing now?

well yes and no... I have a brandy new underground service from pole to house:dancer: which also included a power upgrade from 100 amp to 200 amp service... a 600 dollar upgrade... not really a hard decision as its a 2200 plus sq. foot house a detached 3.5 car garage with bonus room above and a 30 by 40 pole barn... and have power.. the extension cords put away.. but there was a fire in bookcase where main power disconnect fried and welded breaker open... so that is open bookcase need to be taken down the burnt wires removed and put back together after cleaning and insulation... BUT my beautiful wife insists we are not doing that before thanksgiving... no way no how.. it would put 400 square foot living room stove room into a construction zone with 8 additional house guests :heidi: so I choose to wait instead of going to divorce court... her and Mother in law are in straight clean up mode now vacuum and lights work not to mention washer and dryer... I guess cleaning was not high on my priority list.. I also have been informed that showers by candle light lose their romantic allure after 3 days.. who knew

OK, well that sounds like you have the beast knocked down and good and beaten if not completely dead. :) But at least the entire electrical situation is done, finished and better than new, which is great.

OFFTOPIC: I had the power co. engineer really riding me to make changes to my power entrance when upgrading from 100 to 200 amps service a couple of months ago. He borderline 'told' me (I heard a threat) that if I did not go with underground service, they may not supply power to my house. I have overhead lines attached to corner of house. It all ended up OK but it was a struggle with National Grid (absolutely no one else though: town electrical inspector was really great, as were electricians, etc.). And like He- Man, "They have the POWER!" 'cause they will refuse electrical service and there is no way around it.

Romantic showers..... well, it probably depends on where you put the candles. I mean if you put them IN the shower, the water will put them out and then you are just not sure what or even perhaps who, you are washing. Depending on how many people are in the shower at one of course. So I can see her point.... ;)

Split and stacked some ash with the dogs after working on the kitchen ceiling this am.Then we bucked some locust limbs I pilfered from the tree dump.

Also cleared a spot to set up some pallets for more ash/elm. The pups were worn out. They all came home, dropped on the floor and fell asleep. :)

 Hate to admit it but I've been secretly stressing out for your wife and daughter, 1 for bathing/hair/makeup by candle light, but mostly 2- cleaning for guests is stressful, having to wait for that long would have drove me bananas. Awesome MIL is there!
