What’s your story what do you do for a living?

Changing the thread a little. It be fun to talk about what you do for a living? This is the result of my job.

thanks to good advice from members I have developed a useful method of cleaning up old work boots.

    It works great!

I hate buying work boots and have a bit of an attachment to them silly as that sounds.

Thanks to everyone for the advice on a good chemical preservative for leather. This stuff works pretty good!

those dont look old to me! I was spoiled by work paying for a new pair of boots once a year. I would buy a pair every fall and use them as regular boots through the winter, then retire my boots I wore to work in the spring. Now the cheap prick in me wont spring for a new pair, so I wear the old beat up pair that make yours look like they just came out of the box.

I know your pain I work in industrial strength acid, sanitizer and detergents they will eat your skin off... harsh stuff. Years ago I worked for a magnesium plant in the remelt division. My job was to go up to the top and use a long handle ladle to scoop the dross off the bottom of the molten metal before it got into the ingots.

I truly hated that job and I’d go through boots like water.

This job is better but not by much:whistle: I never know what I’m gonna be installing or fixing or where in the state it’s at. Everything from welding, grinding, chemical pumps to installing glycol chillers. It’s a nasty job but I love it!!

    :D

absolutely! Those suckers are heavy, and Im not getting any younger. Anywhere from 50-200lbs for a single cell. Nothing worse than dealing with nasty batteries either. Now I just sell them, and take people out to lunch....while making twice as much money as I used to.

I have been paying the extra money and buying rocky boots for about the last 10 years or so. (Shame on me for not ding it earlier)

I like them, but they have to be the stitched on soles. (The molded soles do/did not work for me.) Trouble is, I have three pair that are worn out but I just can't throw them away! Yes, I still wear them, but it better weather than what we have now.

Hey Pete, you could be that one in 30! :D

Now don't get me wrong, I didn't have to eliminate 30 to get to that 2nd place finish.....

These were open martial arts tournaments (any style welcome to compete) and not boxing. However, you could use boxing skills but the advantage is you could also use kicks and take downs! All with control, lots of control...

Injuries do and will occur. I had a bad one in the mid 90's....required surgery.
