Yeah it's not a wonder that my wife and my father-in-law had put up car siding on the ceiling to hide the mistakes someone else made.

 

Good morning, 32 to near 50 today with rain rolling in tonight and temps reaching for 60 Saturday!
Today is my Sunday and I don't have anything I "have" to do.
(except finish cooking the giant omelet in the skillet)

 

Not enough snow to make money today,,how do I fix the time in my weather app?

Nice walk this morning although the breeze from the west was creosoted scented. Yesterday when it got light, we could see snow in them thar hills. campinspecter's wood hoarding spot will have quite a bit of snow there as it is much higher elevation than here. Our local ski hill be getting geared up for the season. Last day of work this week. Looking forward to tomorrow.

That is great news. What a saga that was.

 

This re-purposed oak kitchen cabinet is about done. It was once a bureau that was in need of a bit of repair. I spent more time planning it out and stepping back to look at it, then actually building it. It stores all the kids school snack foods and extea paper goods.

Top drawer is a false two-drawer face. It has full extension slides. The dividers were the poplar sides if the old drawers.




Only a few more rounds of the storm locust to split with the X-27. Need to find a spot to stack it for two years. I think it is just over a half cord.

 

It has been a day of emotional ups and downs.
The day started off with an appointment with my finical advisor to discuss my Obama care health insurance issues and plan a strategy for next years income. We were able to adjust next years income stream and take a lump sum from my 401k withdrawing this year and none next year. This would allows us to claim just our SS income for next year which put me under the income threshold for assistance. This plan would save me $8500 at a total cost of around $2000 in this years taxes and penalties from the plan. I was on cloud 9.
Went to the grocery store and everything was good until I got to the checkout. It is always hard to write the check at the checkout. I am sure you know what I mean.
Started to dress the chains on my saws. I got 1 done and half way through the second one when my wife came out and told ne we had to go into my son's house.
Our 16 year-old grandson called and said his dog of 14 years was bleeding from the rectum. When we got there, it didn't look good and rushed the dog off to the vets. During the ride, she threw up with blood. Prognosis was Rectal Cancer. We had to put the dog down. My grandson was really torn up. I will be digging a hole tomorrow.
What made it worse was they were leaving on a weekend get away and we were suppose to dog watch over the weekend. I know my grandson will not enjoy the get-away. It was heart breaking.
