Really that big a hole and cutting the cage out didn't make it louder?

It definitely sounds happier. Now it needs another port on the other side of the muffler!

My buddy Joe Red97 makes some pretty sweet deflectors shoot him a pm I think they are like 4 bucks. Or you could cut some gills like I did. 20171116_215518.jpg

My 6421 still has the cat converter in it and it's very loud. It's easily 2x as loud, raspy, than my buddy's 78cc ms460. I can't imagine how loud a modded muffler like this would be. I don't have a problem with the noise, but my buddy and his dad complain about my dolkitas loudness.

Holy thread revival Batman!!! Horkn see J. Dirt Vids above… the saw isn’t really louder after being gutted. Just sounds different. It certainly will run cooler and that usually leads to less wear and tear….

What's funny is we both run the exact same 20" chain, on 20" bars. This 64cc dolkita is just as fast as that bigger 460 and I believe it weighs less too. One of these days I'll put the 80cc kit, hd air filter, and muffler mod it .

It’s lighter than the 460/461. Better anti vibration too.

When I bought my first 7910 brand new I had the money in hand to purchase a 460. I even went and ran one at the good Stihl dealer near me. I happened to see an ad in the paper for the dolmar dealer up the street and figured why not check it out. I like all saws mostly as long as they aren’t complete turds, but I do lean a little more toward the Stihl side of things. I don’t mind paying a premium price for well built tools.

Anyway the Dolmar dealer got my attention when he said each saw was bench made in Germany by one tech from start to finish! When I ran it outside in the test log I was sold! It was just a better handling saw in my hands than the 460. The lower price was just icing on the cake.

Yep. Bench made by one tech in Germany start to finish was a selling point to me as well.
