What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Time to go pick up the new car. This one was cursed when it came to tires. 87k on it, and I've never once replaced a tire because it was worn. It even came from the factory with defective tires!

Never broke the windshield though. My work vans always would cracked once every 18 months or so from road debris.

 

Cool and damp, with no rain, no snow.
My old pal, Hippie Bob, was wanting me and my splitter to come visit. I haven't heard from him yet,,,he likes to sleep in.
Been doing some laundry,,(hoping I run the daughters sweaters thru the washer/dryer correctly)

girls spent first 2 days after fire with friend who has 2 bedroom condo at ski mtn... made me feel better as I was setting up power water and insured house was safe not here yet

nope they didn't bring new transformer so they say first thing tomorrow

 

I said go get 1 no we can't work past 4 o'clock umm I said a few things most I would not say in front of my mother

So I get up this morning and my oldest daughter says, "Good morning Daddy, I am a Teenager now".

Those are just the not words you want to here at 6 AM in the morning. Today is her birthday and all year she has been calling herself an-"almost-teenager". Oh boy, and to think next year I have another daughter that will say the same thing, and the year after that another daughter that will say the same thing as well. Fortunately the 4th daughter has 9 years to go (13,12,11,4...all girls).

 

That's good.

Someone said "You need some boys" and I said, "Oh...the boys will show up, don't you worry".

I already have my line picked out for them. "I got a shotgun, shovel and 400 acres pal."

It really is not true. We have a lot of old hand dug wells on this farm so the shovel is not required!

 

Reminds me of a time I had a "discussion" with my daughters boyfriend.

He was a couple years older than my daughter. He was a cocky, lazy little punk with no manners or respect. They went to a party of one of his friends and eventually got busted for "minor in possession of alcohol"

After grounding her and removing her driving rights, I asked her to have him meet me at the wood lot so we could talk.

When he drove up I was splitting wood. I ignored him until he was feet from me. I made him stand there in silence as I split. Finally I stopped...and in a slow, very low voice I made him understand that if he took my daughter to any party like that again, the axe would be used on him.


"Did I make myself clear?" I asked.

"Yes sir" he stammered, eventually asking if he was excused as I started splitting again.

No problems after that...and he soon was an ex boyfriend.
