A solace, calming feeling comes over me while looking at my meager 1 1/2 cord woodpile, for that matter, anyone else's .

Is this a common condition amongst backyard wanna be woodsman firewood hoarders ? :emb:

So, please comfort me here, safety in numbers, right? Or am I :wacky:?

Valleyman It can be a calming experience gazing at your stacks of wood. However, when you see how much more wood you need, it gives you motivation to build up your stash and get on the 3 year plan:saw::axe::stack::stacker::stacker:

Spot on, and nice to meet you Valleyman :handshake:
Only thing that would be considered crazy would be not speeding towards the 3 year plan as soon as possible.

    Welcome to the forum Valleyman.

Yes indeed, it gives a calming feeling but also can be exciting. That's the way it is with hoarders. Hopefully you'll get on the 3 year plan and then you'll really feel great.

a couple of weeks here and that calming feeling will become a sense of dread and inadequacy for sure
just keep chanting 3 YEAR PLAN, 3 YEAR PLAN, 3 YEAR PLAN and you'll be OK.

PS-I'm in the process of re-haging Dad's axe from the 70's -another addiction in the making!

Yes, I look at my meagre stacks and cry. Wait until you see some of the stacks the professional hoarders on here have, it will make you [IMG] with envy.

my favorite view from my house is looking out my basement window that looks out under the deck where my wood is stacked! My wife says it blocks the view, I say it makes the view. I'll post a pic when I get home.

    ....oh, yea....you're right.
..and as soon as you get over that feeling of calm....
you'll start looking past your "meager 1 1/2 cord woodpile"
to figure where you can stack your next cord.

    It's not just you.
I'll see you on the road.

It's always good for one's self esteem, to admire one's wood.

It's a beautiful thing. And I thought I had it bad. Time to get on the 3 year plan for sure!
I just scored some Black Cherry. I think that's what ignited me. I'm going to reserve it for the pizza oven and for smoking fish n fowl
