Worked for Olds, so mostly Cutlass, Calais etc. As I mentioned, it was a loooong time ago and I was assigned to apprentice with the tranny tech so models didnt make a difference to me since we were inundated with the 440 repairs.

I was transferred to Isuzu after about 8-12 months and that was where I had most of my time in auto repair. Like J, I got out of automotive after about 3 years due to the industry being in dire straits and times were really tough at the time. Once I started working on Isuzu, that period was primarily Troopers which were solid vehicles prior to the GM buy in. The manual trannys were solid with few automatics at the time and even those worked well. Gas engines too were solid as long as you kept up maintenance especially timing belts which were rather easy to get use to changing. Head gaskets were a little iffy but again, an easy replacement. Rear ends were susceptible to breakdown sometimes, but those were replaced as an assembly and generally happened during warranty period. U-joints here and there but that was not uncommon for all rear wheel drive vehicles back then. Overall it was a well built vehicle at the time. Not an over the top vehicle but it did well, was technician repair friendly and didnt have the big problems that GM did back then.

Some pickups but they were not in the numbers of the Trooper. The Amigo was out for a short time before I got out and we had a few Impulses but dont remember much about those.

Though you were dino juicing it, 12 bags is more than I've burnt all season so far!! Gonna have enough to get through until that semi can make the driveway??

I've taken the exhaust fan out of the Harman to lubricate the seals as it was groaning on the beginning of action. I replaced it around 2013 and anti-seized the pulley which help a whole bunch. I know they are sealed bearings and it soaked up the oil. It's still making noises and I figure the nearest bearing to the stove gets baked even if there's a fan cooling it. Some play in the bearings which attributes to the groaning noises:doh:

Since I have to run the dino beast to have hot water I just keep the tank full and don't really care if the boiler runs for space heating I will likely get an auto start generator as pulling on starter cords is not what I want to do.

I had a manual Trooper, I don't recall the year, 94'? It was before they made them wider. Anywho I LOVED THAT TRUCK! Interesting vehicle, sounded like a big diesel but it was gas. Put almost 100k on it, and only one issue with an electric window.

Yup, if you were lucky enough to have a P'up with the 1st generation diesel engine, that was a great small truck. 2nd generation diesel was where Isuzu slapped on a turbo and didnt beef up the lower end. Connecting rods were flying through the blocks to the point where they extended warranty for many many years. Those were mostly Trooper diesel's on the 2nd generation.
