Finished filling my wood shed today...just in time to start emptying it. Holds 1078 cubic feet or right at 8.421875 cord. Give or take. The random logs laying around are remnants from the recent wind storm. Took out a nice sized maple that used to shade the woodshed. Hit the very edge of the roof, could have been MUCH worse. You can almost see it on the front left corner.
Also got all this various soft wood dropped in my yard as a result of the storm. Price? Freeeeeeee! (We bought them a nice sized gift card to a local store where everyone shops.)
Can't complain about wood that falls next to your wood shed, I'm glad it didn't fall into it, your woodshed is so cute! Did you lose power after the storm?
True, true. We feel fortunate it only brushed the front corner of the roof. The more I look at that second set of pics, I can pick out a root ball of one tree that went the right way as well as 7 other trees that all came down as a result of the same storm. We got pretty lucky all things considered! Yes, we lost power. We were on the 9th day when the trucks finally came. Yet another tree took down the line between the transformer & the house. Still no internet, though. We're on day 17 for that. Data overage charges...ugh.
Do you have cable for internet? When we had a place in NW Maine, it was dialup or satellite from Dish, and since it was a vacation home, and we would have to pay year round for satellite, we just went with smartphones. Make sure your provide prorates you for the outage at least.
It's DSL. Good thing we both have cell phones cause that means we'd be nearly 3 weeks without a phone otherwise. I'm definitely going to ask for a prorated bill. One of the 3-4 times I called, they had just sent us a new bill. I had all I could do not to ask them "what the hell do you want me to do with this bill???" But someone wise once told me about flies & honey.
