Hi Lots of familiar faces here. I was wondering why the old school was beat this year.. Can I hang with the cool kids? Ray in Connecticut
Thanks.. I was wondering why the old school was not very engaging this season. I assumed it was the way the they rearranged some sub forums, which broke the "browsing flow." So I been spending my browsing time on a BBQ forum. ( I may have a problem with fire!) Anyway, stash is sitting around a ton and change.. Hell who am I kidding , I have exactly 61 bags & will be slicing a bag around 4 pm today. That's very light, like to have 2 tons in the hole come this time of year, for kicking off next burn season.
Hey bud!! Was trying to find a way to get hold of you but was unable. I did join Kamado Guru last fall and will probably be on there more, but The Smokehouse here has my attention and most likely that will stay active right through the warm seasons. Welcome aboard and if you havnt found it yet, you will love The Smokehouse !!
Nice, the guru (my user name is the same over there or dam close) is a great site also, they are as obsessed with cooking 12 months a year, from heat waves to article blasts. Ray Going to check out the smokehouse!
You might want to change your avatar---with the pellet shortage and you having LaCrete as an avatar, it just might be like bait for some of the pigs here to attempt a night visit and steal your stash All kidding aside, I just tried those and man they are the best I have tried yet. Hoping to stock up on LaCrete this year
The Guru was where I learned about spatchcock chicken and brought it over here to get the subject rolling- http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/index.php?threads/spatchcocked-chicken.1004/ Hey !! Maybe we can collaborate with the 2 forums and bring some members over with possible reciprocation - You probably know the mindset of the members there, but I'm pretty sure that the members there are as addicted to fire as we are Most members here use pits, their woodstove, or my favorite non kamodo is fishingpol's oven Check this out http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/for...-fired-oven-stuffed-chicago-style-pizza.3058/
Me too, Seems every time I visit I gain a few more pounds!! YES! and Okies too. My vote for the best SPF softie in my region.
I burned the 2 bags of Lacrete right after a complete cleanout and vent cleaning. After those burned, the Spruce Pointe went in. Pretty similar but I think the Lacrete edged out the Spruce in ash and heat but not by much. Now my Spruce are 2 years old and have been in the basement for 2 summers. Dont think this makes a difference but who knows. Also they are not bagging Spruce Pointe this year-the mill is selling all of them to oil company as oil cleanup . So its a moot point right now. If both were available, I would buy whichever was cheaper. When I bought the Spruce Pointes that I have on hand, they were 235/ton. Ahh, the good ole' days . Maybe I should sell em at 10 bucks a bag
