Pretty unbelievable. I've noticed that in all the varied videos, no one is wearing n safety gear. How is it that all these idiots doing incredibly dangerous things never seem to get injured, just do property damage ("just"....) The clouds of smoke out of that first home are pretty impressive.
Maybe he was running low on firewood, just got it a little closer to the house then he had planned for the stacks
You guys are makin me nervous, I have two trees close to the house I'm going to cut here in a couple weeks when it drys out some.
A few years ago I had to cut a damaged birch tree that I was worried the wind would blow onto my shed. Wasn't too big, maybe 30ish feet tall and 8-10" at the base. I should have just let the wind do it's thing because I ended up dropping it right on my shed. I thought I learned my lesson so the next time I had to drop a tree I hired it out. Big cottonwood. Got ahold of a pro tree service and they came by. The ended up dropping it right across the dog lead that runs from my house to the woods and over my firewood pile. I get calls once in a while about "free firewood". Usually ends up being a tree (or trees) that would cost big $$ to drop. Big bastard leaning against toward a house, over power lines, no place for it to fall, etc. Then they get upset when I tell them that I can't do it.
Aftermath of a local tree company screwing it up big time last summer. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2013/07...mit-tree-damage-blows-over-cuts-home-in-half/ http://westchester.news12.com/news/osha-to-investigate-valley-cottage-crane-collapse-1.5663221
