One of my fur buddies wanted to go out when I left for work this am. All she felt was warm sunshine through the window while inside-I did her a huge favor making her stay in today

I'm in the throws of replacing my alarm system, since there is no way to get a newer version that works with the old wiring system I had to either get adapters or rewire the detector circuit. The adapters are siting in the mailbox the detectors made it to MA and will be here Monday or Tuesday I guess I can buy some 10 year 9 volt lithium cells.

yes, my cats sat in the window looking at the birds. At least my birds came back to eat from the feeders I have all filled up. I don't know how the birds survive in that cold and severe wind chill. I had a woodpecker within arms reach while I filled the suet cages. Then he went to it like he was starving. We didn't have any birds until a week ago. Now their numbers are picking up. I'll keep the feeders full for now until spring.

Same here. No birds for the past month so I guess its time to put the suet back out and draw the winter birds back. No summer suet-smell attracts bear.

That's always disturbing to see, but impressive at the same time.. Sharp pics Larry. :ithappened:
( Those must be from the city - All the roads are paved. ;) )

Ouch. We were fortunate this time out, just some dead-fall from trees storm damaged earlier this summer, had a bit of cleaning up the next morning.. The Asplundh Tree Expert Co. folks had been working in the area earlier this year, doing cut-back on behalf of Eversource (electric utility), and did a great job.

It's 14 here this a.m. & frosty. :coffee: Time to get busy - have a great day all. :coffee:

I never used those weather things. If I want to know what it's doing I look out the window or walk out a door. Weather rocks are nice too :D

Does it help me know what's going on at home when I'm away? Nope, but then again doesn't matter if I'm not there anyway and I assume it is colder and wetter at home than it is where I work.

I switched the P61a over to "manual" (room temp). The floors were getting chilly with it cycling.

Sun is nice and warm this morning though. It went from 18* to 30* in the matter of 2 hours. Gotta clean the stoves today so hope it warms up even more.

It seems as if the willow dropping 1/5 of its crown on my roof this summer was a blessing. If that hadn't happened, I would have waited until next year to have the tree taken down. And, if it was still there, likely I would have had even more damage from the latest storms - just before this cold settled in. As it was, I had nothing at all to worry about on my property

Hope you don't hear the dreaded "snap!" while trying to remove them. Then, you'll be doing this :headbang: for having a Triton.
