Broke my fiskars x27

Today i managed to break the head right off my x27 while trying to pop loose a few big logs from the frozen ground. I broke a few loose and then one was a bit stubborn. Gave it a few smacks with the back of the fiskars and the head flew right off. Guess i'll be giving them a buzz tomorrow

 

Ouch! Can't say I have ever seen a busted up Fiskars before.

 

Email them that pic. That's all u have to do.

Wrong tool for the job, you need one of these, bought one a couple of years ago for about 30 dollars, like everything else it has went up in price.

You use that to split wood? They weigh like 29 pounds and how do you use it? Seems it would only work on red oak that splits easy. Have to stand over it like useing a t post driver. Seems like your shins would take a beating.

 

my bet is oldspark ain't splittin with that diggin' iron, he's referring to bustin' loose rounds that are frozen in the ground.....

 

oldspark, i've got one of those bars, but it was nowhere near me at the time. They do work great though.

Well, now that I re-read the original post, it appears that fiskars was busted trying to break loose logs from frozen ground, not rounds. Either way, there appears to have been some serious hammerin' going on to bust loose some farwood, and the dang handle broke

Sorry to hear it. I use a 8lb maul to bust the logs when they are frozen. The easier choice is to wait till spring although I know it's nice to get it split as early as you can once you have the time.

Works great for rolling logs and busting loose frozen down pieces, its not bad at scraping off ice on the cement either.
