Well, by the looks of the weather forcast we are finally gonna some temps that will allow us to fire up this weekend. Supposed to be highs in the mid 40's with a 60% of rain. Chompin' @ the bit to light er' up .
Its been the never ending warm fall here so any change downward is welcomed. Would love to be up in the Mat Valley now.
48 and dropping right now. Fire will be going soon, then a small reload before bed. Going down to 40 in the forecast, but they haven't been right with that for the last 4 days. We've been at least 5 degrees cooler every one of those nights. Oh, and we've (I've) been burning for about a month.
Low of 41* here tonight. Had a fire (pellet) a few nights now. Painted the wood stove this year (Honey Glo Brown) and I am in the process of painting the basement now. Otherwise I would be burning the 30-NC now. Been a good Summer, but I am ready for a little Man Made Heat!!
Had a couple lite loads the past 2 nights. Need to get my butt in gear as my wood for this year is behind wood that needs split Not sure what dummy did that. ;
Still have to wait till next week before it gets cold. Warmest October in recent memory. That Canadian air should hit us about Tuesday, with any luck.
I had to start a fire last night when we got home from Texas......could have used one down there as well brrrrrrrr.
Had a buddy who flew up to Iqualuit for work last thursday. He was saying that the weather up there has been exceptionally warm by their standards as well. It was 34 degrees the day he was there and that is WAY above their norm for this time of year. Unbelievable
We've beeen having a fire every so often, pine and some bigtooth aspen this week. After the 1.6 cord of shoulder season wood we'll start burning the cherry.
The fires are getting more numerous around here too. Sounds like next week most of us will be burning at least int he midwest and east.
We are having one every night after work and then a small one before bed. Been heating water for my bath.
He's not much of a heat dog., heads for the coolest spot in the house when Ole' Black Betty is cranking along.
Not here yet. Was 75 today. But it looks like fires are coming, highs in the 50's a week from now. Maybe even a frost. I usually would have had a string of evening fires by now.
