I'm even nearer Green Bay then Ward is... Taverns outnumber schools and churches here so you should have a good time.
Wifey from LaCrosse and a grad from UWL…. I'm with smoke show! Every town in Wisconsin has a school, church, a barber shop and triple the taverns ya got love them……. Great people, I still don't know what a ruuuf is yet?
OH yeah, Chippewa Falls area - Leinenkeugels Beer. Lucky you. Green Bay is my hometown, too bad you'll be so far from there - where the best burger in the UNIVERSE can be got at Kroll's restaraunt (east or west).
Leinies is awesome. In the 20 or so years its been sold here I cant think of 1 of their varieties that I didn't try & not like. Some I really liked weren't around too long or were discontinued back in late '90's unfortunately.Maple Brown Lager,Bock (One of their first beers, brewed continuously since 1888),Big Butt Doppelbock,Winter Lager,Apple Spice Cider (that just missed the now popular Hard Cider craze) to name a few.... A couple were brought back with a different name or slightly different recipe, such as 1888 Bock. Point Brewery from Stevens Point is great too, starting to see most all of their beers here also the past few years.Their Winter seasonal (just ended recently) St.Benedict's Winter Ale is top-notch.
My favorite is just the plain jane Leinie's that's cheap at the store. That's what I drank all the time in College. The other good cheap beer was called Rhinelander. About 1,000,000 breweries in WI
Heheh, there's hardly any quicker way to derail a thread than to bring up BEER or CHILI ... and this one has both!! Sorry, my bad..... But wait a minute,, what about Chermake garlic summer sausage?
