Not frosty this morning but really blowing. Walking was adventure. I just get back to work and we are into doing report cards again. what fun! NOT Seeing as 1/3 of our students come by ferry boat, I think we won't see them today.

Thanks all and yes, I'm feeling better this morning. What a morning too! Had appointment with eye doctor at 7:15 so no hunting. Then doctor says he can't do anything for better glasses as I need cataract surgery...and I only have one good eye so I'm a bit reluctant to do it right away. Then I decide that I may as well get my hair cut before going home so have to drive to another town to do that. Get 2 telephone calls while there. First one is funny as neighbor is hunting close to our house and wants me to go get him with atv because he has deer all over the place and can't get out of his stand and doesn't want to spook them. Second one is a friend wanting help tracking a deer.

Also saw 2 flocks of swans going over and it is really nice as we have a clear blue sky and they are beautiful. Needless to say, we have some cold weather coming.

It's just low growing and not really an issue around my wood lot down in SE Wisconsin, and up north, it's pretty much just in the roadsides.

Are you sure the circulator pump is running?

How old is the system? I've seen the impellers rot off...

System is old but pump is newer. I can hear it trying to circulate. I think I have a lot of air in the loop. Headed out on a road trip...will try to purge again when I get back.

I don't think either of those channels missed a month this year without a Christmas show on them, for that matter.

I just don't know enough about boilers. Period. Is there a way you can force the circulation through the system? I mean, like isolating the pump and then using supply feed to pressure through the whole system? Of course, you would have to open the boiler drain to achieve that, no?

If you have more than one zone, you could open/close the zone valves also, no?

My first thoughts were that the pump was not circulating too.

Multiple zone valves for a few different heat zones? I just went through a re-wire on a 1 circulator and 3 zone system including boiler relay. New expansion tank too.

Same here. Hallmark will be the main stay until the first of the year. However, I did watch my favorite, "Christmas Under Wraps" a couple of nights ago. Don't know why I like it, but it is about Alaska (a place dear to my heart) and I think the lead actress qualifies as good eye candy.
I remember when the stores didn't dare put out Christmas merchandise until after Thanksgiving. Now they might as well have it on their shelves all year round. Sick of the commercialization of Christmas.

This is a single zone system. Before I had to run out the door today I attached a garden hose to the drain on the expansion tank and put the end in a big bucket, opened the fill valve, and ran the pump. I was getting a lot of air bubbles in the bucket.

Will keep doing more of the same until I get no more bubbles after I get home.

If it is too windy out on the water the foot ferry won't run so the students stay home. The foot ferry ran this morning but it got rougher by noon so we sent them home early on the bigger car ferry.
