Still pretty warm here 60 degrees. Finally got the big pine rounds split, that is my hubby did with a maul. They'll be good burning this year after all. Checked them with a moisture meter average around 18/19. Only a few very sappy pieces still at 22/23. For now they are behind the new shed under the overhang. Still have to finish oiling the floor and put up a few more wall boards. Checked on some oak in the little green house that is 15/18. Its raining today. I might set up the splitter under porch and get some more split.

It's the other way round, we keep them in clean socks & underwear, meals in the fridge, in good credit rating, and out of the gutter.

Midwinter, my hubby isn't so lucky right now. We live in two locations during the week. He works and stays in town and I'm out in the cabin working on the new house and land etc.
He does miss it and can't wait for us to get settled down again.

Actually, we think i'am the lucky one. Being out here is wonderfully peaceful and i enjoy the work out here. Our old neighborhood in town has become very noisy.

    Looking good, Lucy! I'm jealous!

A nice woodshed is on my to-do list. Unfortunately that "list" looks more like a thesaurus.......:picard:

Just hafta wait for the "to do" list to turn into a "must do" list sometimes......

Even my "must do" has become a scroll roll of significant diameter.
