Few more loads split and threw in a pic of my view while splitting. Waterfall in the backround not as intense as the other days storm. There is still so much to buck and split. 2B2849BC-7CE1-400F-A559-1BE48345ADB9.jpeg 812586E5-D22A-4C82-B259-33A1CB32D40E.jpeg

Forgive my ignorance (I'm a freshman wood burner) but what does the term 'Buck' mean?

    The bloke across the water.

    Cut logs to length
In our case, cut into rounds
the length to be split for firewood

iBob Think of the word 'buck' as a verb. To buck up a log is to cut it into rounds. Hope that helps. I know it is not the Queens English, but it is what we use:thumbs::D

Yes, we also call them rounds. Making those rounds though is bucking. Have you ever heard of a sawbuck?

I thought a sawbuck was a $10 bill. They don't use 'em across the pond.

$10 bill got the nickname because "X" (the shape of a sawbuck) is Roman numeral 10.
