I didnt realize the temps were starting to climb when I loaded the crap out of the stove and choked it down for a "lets see how long this load of soft maple lasts burn" 57 degrees out, and its 71 in the house with a window and occasionally a door open with the stove cruising at 400

Windy and lots of rain off and on this afternoon. A chilly 48 degrees and nice, dry White Pine crankin in the Wood Gun.
first fire Nov 1 no pics cause no power 7 days on generators and extension cords.. took deadbolt out ran extension cords thru it so door would shut.. no power for at least weds.. so 15 gallons gas a day for some lights phone yeah water cause flushing toilets is a good thing Is cranking cause working outside at 40 rainy means Woodstock running
You can buy the items so all you have to do is run a heavy 220v 30amp cord w/plugs from your generator to receptacle on house. There's kits you can purchase (amazon) whick contain:30 amp breaker, safty slide bar (so you can't have the main on while running generator),outside weather resistant box n receptacle. I ran seal tight flexible conduit w/fitting to go into panel box n outside receptacle. I had to get a couple of mini breakers cause I was out of room in the panel box. All in all it took me about a half day to install it....you won't regret it!!
We had 47 this morning so we had another s/s fire, I think the high temp today for us was 53. It rained hard a few times today but even with the rain we received overnight, I don't think we receive half an inch of rain.
Sure is! My family loves the feel of wood heat when it gets cold out. My wife and I went from a nice cozy house at 24c/75f to a restaurant where the thermostat that we were sitting next to said 18c/64f! We turned it up as soon as it dipped to 17.5c. Im back in front of my wood stove about 20 minutes away from a reload. Nice to see youre getting some snow weather so you can flex that new wood stove! Does your stove have an air wash system to keep the glass clear?
-12c/10f with light snowfall. I just raked the coals forward and will load up the super 27 with larch for my over night in about half hour. Im enjoying the cooler weather. Its nice to not have it wet around here. (says the guy who prayed for rain to stop the forest fires not to long ago!)
50 degrees this morning. Wet, but mild. Pine in boiler to keep things warm and hot water at the ready.
thewoodlands How much rain did you get? I see some heavy stuff on the radar in your area this morning.
Just under 3/4 of an inch overnight, the trails we'll be real muddy today if I use the tractor. It's 53 this morning, we hadn't had a fire since yesterday morning so we started one about an hour ago to chase the dampness.
-19c/-2f under clear skies this morning. It looks like it will be a beautiful day. Im burning down some coals before reloading my stove with some doug fir.
Looking at -15 C feels like -20 C. Or 5 F feels like -4 F. Lack of square wood in the stove last night means it's a bit chilly inside the shack. Not for long.
