Dear Husband would not use anything BUT those for a couple decades (then we needed E rated tires). I got around quite well with those, and not noisy despite the aggressive tread.

That's a plus, I've never run them, but the Altimax's are on the car now. I've been a die hard Winterforce guy for a long time, but I saved over $100 with the Generals this past spring when they were doing closeouts. Car has close to 250K, so I went the economy route for the last set of tires it might ever need.
I do have a new set of Winterforce LT's (E-range) for the truck, in the shed, got a great deal on those also. Just have to swap out the mini-spool and plug in the Detroit before I swap tires. Too much wear with the spooled rear.
Gotta swap the wife's tires pretty soon also, studded Winterforce on an AWD Honda CRV, it's pretty impressive with those tires.

Those are the best I've ever used. Well worth the added cost

Quick update- I like the Altimax's. Very smooth, very quiet, - compared to the Winterforce tires. But, I've only had a few slushy, icy morning so far.
The jury is still out. I am hopeful though.
