Breckwell P22 Fan Noise

So my 11 year old Breckwell is making a a noise over the last few days and for that reason I havent ran it much. It appears that the noise is coming from one of the fans. Earlier this season I replaced one of the fans but now it seems that the other fan is starting to go. ARRGG. I cleaned out the fan as it had some crud but the noise persists. Sounds like when a fan needs oil but i dont see anywhere i can add oil to it. I took a quick video of it.

Time for a new fan or can this be saved?

 

Which one is it? Most convection motors have oil ports. The squeak def. sounds like a dry bearing.

 

It's the one that blows air into the room pete. Last month I changed the exhaust fan.

 

Did you pull the motor and clean it? If not, you might want to give it a thorough blow out and cleaning and try to drip some oil on those bearings.

 

My guess is that there are oil ports on it. Check the pics below. Occasionally they will have plastic plugs in the holes like pic #2.

Also, sometimes the holes are on the underside....you have to remove the blower assembly to check all the way around the motor. That's how mine was....I took it off and rotated it so the holes were on the upper surface facing the rear of the stove to make for easy oiling if I didn't need to remove it for cleaning.

If you find them, 2-3 drops of oil each and cross your fingers.

I took the fan apart and brought it to our shop. It had a lot of dust, so much so that I could not see the fins. I know its bad on my part, really bad. The fan was hard to spin it was so bad. I cleaned it out very well and put oil on it. It spins freely when i blow on it with a compressor. The noise also stopped after I oiled it up. I will mount it back up tonight when I get home and update the post. Thanks again. Very bad on my part (I know Pete, I know" lol. I used White Lightning Grease and wiped off the excess.

 

Pete, i found the oil ports. Thanks. Whats the best oil to use for this?
