Believe it or not, snow and rain mix at 36° here. I have no fire going on right now for lack of a better reason. Most likely will have one tonight anyways.
Just warm enough in the house right now...

It quit raining sometime during the night and lots of moonlight. Looks to be sunny today. We'll enjoy that as we don't get a lot of that from this point on and into the winter.

Same here, that's why I have the windows open. Might be the last time to air the house out for 6 months.

Ain't it the truth: it was 72F here today. Extraordinary for the first week of November.

My wife had some minor surgery on her foot and so was looking for a place to 'camp out' without moving too much. Ended up on a chaise lounge ON THE PORCH, which not only is open but does not even have screens, so she was effectively just outside with a roof over her head. Got out there about 11:00 AM and is STILL out there knitting (after 5:00 PM). Amazing.

Of course it is supposed to go down to an even 40F by tomorrow morning and only get to the low 40's all day tomorrow. Really tough environment to run a woodstove in because it is almost always too hot, too cold, the fire lasts too long, not long enough, etc. Shoulder seasons are always a little challenging but this year is just off the wall regarding temps. reached and temp. swings.

Currently 44 with a breeze out. Going down to 30 degrees overnight. Pine fire burning in the Wood Gun.

I worked outside in the barn until about 6:00. Then came in and stoked the fire before dinner. One cold beer while warming up.

I saw a high of 75 here today, had the windows and doors open all day. Just shut the last window a few minutes ago. Supposed to get down into the 30's tonight? Gotta love it. I'll probably set the stove up tonight so I just have to light it off when Im half asleep in the morning.

Hovering at the freezing point here. About 3" of heavy wet snow on the ground now with about another inch expected. Brought another load of wood home from the parents today so that makes a little over 3 full cord here at the house. Gotta move another full cord and I'll be set I think. Been keeping a steady 72 in the house with highs at 40 amd lows in the mid 20s.

When I used to have a schedule where I had to be up and out at a certain time for work, I would set the coffee maker up, and that would be my alarm clock. Occasionally I will set it up at night if I am working in the kitchen and I think of it.

I definitely got lazy last night, and didnt prep the stove like I planned.

Didn't get anywhere near the amount of snow we had scheduled for us. Just a dusting. Probably won't even put the shovel to the ground.

Upper 20's now heading for mid 30's. Overcast and gonna stay that way!
