The Tube Scraper Rod has broken off from the Heat Exchange Tube Scraper on my Hastings stove. I can't see how I can replace them. The scraper is used daily to remove ash buildup on the tubes carrying the hot air into the room. Any ideas?

Post a piccy of the area the rod broke off and how the rod exits the stove and we can likely come up with a fix

    Hello
I fixed one just like it on a St Croix Greenfield. What usually happens is the weld breaks on the piece that holds the rod to the rake. The new rod from St Croix is threaded at the end so it can be fastened to the rake with a nut.
So you have to get the old rod out and the only way to do that is to cut the old rod out with a Dremel. Be careful not to cut into the heat exchanger tubes.
    That is the way!
    Hope that helps. :)

If you can get a die on the end or the rod and cut some threads on it. Drill a hole through the scraper on the tubes and put a couple nuts on it.

So instead of cutting inside with the chance of cutting into an air tube, I pulled the rod out, then just cut it in half with a hacksaw, and pulled it out from inside. No chance of destroying the stove!

So after lighting the stove a couple times, I kept smelling ash getting into the room. I checked gaskets, snugged up bolts, checked the pipe. I think I found it. The replacement scraper rod is a little thinner than the old one, leaving a gap where it goes into the stove, right where the room air blows out. For now, I wrapped foil tape around the rod where it makes contact to the stove when it is pushed all the way in. I think that helped. Any ideas?

I picked up a clamp collar and slide it over the rod. Seems to work and rod still functions as normal.

Remove the frbagistat and weld an intermediary protrusion onto the dereclaimer and hope for the best... last time my dehumdistat reluctor stopped working and I was forced to redeliver the uptonforwrench in the secondary ditzeliminator.

Should still be under the lifetime unlimited warranty.
