How cool is this!? Looks like a great deal. Congrats to the entire Woodstock team!

I have a feeling it is going to be a very busy Spring and Summer at the loading dock in Lebanon NH.

That's very attractive pricing, even for a preproduction run.
I wonder how much weight the stove gains when all the optional soapstone liners area added?
That's a great idea to give the option, it must add to the thermal mass.

Mine has the soapstone liner(and soapstone sides too), and weighs in at the 550lb mark.

Is $1795 the normal price of the IS and is the rear heat shield an additional cost?

Good question. I don't think I saw it on the price list as an option but it was mentioned in the clearances

Is this the firebox? If so, and you do not get it lined, what is the firebox lined with?

My guess is a scaled down in size IS. Just a wild azz guess on my part.

I'd have to agree considering the IS is a monster.

I'll let you know what I find out. Tom at Woodstock asked today if I'd be interested in continuing as a Beta tester in the future.

Sweet looking stove. Should be able to keep a lot of homes warm.

I could see myself replacing the Resolute Acclaim in the family room downstairs with a scaled down IS. Especially if the price was scaled down as well. :)

    Question for the Beta testers-
What options would you consider desirable? And which ones are - not so much?
    Ash pan and grate-
    Soapstone liner-
    Soapstone side panels-
    Custom sides/ andirons/ Burner-

    Another thought on the IS.

The ash pan should be a no brainer for anyone considering this Monster and going for the soapstone liner bricks instead of the standard firebrick also is money well spent. The additional soapstone side panels make sense too. So at that point, you might as well go for their "works" package and swallow the $2.2K price tag.

Not that this isn't a good deal, for that much stove it very much is and is still very competitive with anything in it's class. Which really isn't very much; the BK line-up, this Lopi Cape Cod, ...what else besides the WS PH? Scale one of these down by 1/3rd the size and provide a solid 2 cu fit hybrid like this in the ~$1500 price range... those things would fly off the shelf. (just the product manager wheels working in my head.)

    Ash pan and grate-Mandatory
Soapstone liner-Very desirable for evening out the heat
Soapstone side panels-Desirable for evening out the heat
    Custom sides- purely aesthetic
andirons- functional but not necessary with NS loading
Burner- probably not necessary unless you plan on doing a lot of cooking (We haven't cooked on ours at all this year. But its good to know we can if we need to.)
