Going in to work late this morning. Although I have power the street behind me doesn't. If my power goes out I'll have a flooded basement since the sump won't be working. Plus, who knows what's on the roads along the 30 miles I travel to work. One town down the road is 100% out of power and even where I work something like 35% of customers are out. I know we have power at work as I've already done some stuff remotely.

Local station is saying that there are 233,000 without power - more than the Thanksgiving snow storm of 2014 (wet, heavy snow and leaves still on trees = bad news that day). After 3.5" of rain last week, and that much the last 24 hours, the soggy earth allowed high winds to tak out a lot of trees.

Never lost power at home, But had flickers at work and many control/drive errors that needed to be reset. Ride in was fun with all the puddles. Only averaged about 55 mph on the highway. Dodged a few branches on the side roads. Surprised there weren't any wrecks. Pretty much uneventful!! :)

Gonna do inshop projects to stay close to the air compressors. Any flicker seems to fault their drives.

The big storm roared through here last night. 70 mph winds here on the coast. Lost power at 3am and it's still out. No word when it will be back. Running off the generator in the motorhome. Burned 5 gallons of gas so far, so I have plenty. (75 gallons in tank) I just put my amp meter on the line feeding the house. Nothing but lights and TV on and it's drawing 5 amps. I may fire the stove for a while tonight. It's getting chilly. 50 degrees right now.

Crazy night on the east coast last night. Never lost power but I've heard half the people in the state did. A lot of people didn't make it in today and a lot of people couldn't work because their jobs didn't have power. I never lost mine but the lights flickered a lot. Now that I think about it I must have had a brief outage because the clocks were blinking when I got home. Still pretty breezy out there and it cooling off. Toasty in here with the stove idling.

Latest report was that over 300,000 customers were without power :bug:- that's like half the stat (JK - about 25%). Never flickered at home or at work. Some schools closed or delayed opening, my town didn't have to do either of those. The head of the EOS had to have someone come get him as all ways out of his road were blocked by downed trees/power lines.

And then there is 3/4 of a house that got swept away on a flooded river, ran into a bridge and got ground to nothing in about 30 seconds.

I could hear the river that is 4-5 blocks away from my house this morning. Haven't heard it for a long time and can only hear it when it is really running high.

We got power back just after 7 last night. The storm ushered in a cold front so I fired the stove around 9 just to take the chill off. I shut it down before bed and when I woke this morning, it was 59 in the house and 48 outside. Stove is putting along happily now and we're toasty. Still parts of town without power. Crazy storm!

they are calling for 32 degrees tonight. I haven't had a fire in the wood stove in the shop yet (maybe tonight). cleaned up all the bark, uglies, and debris from the wood splitting operation. unhooked the batteries on the RV and unplugged it. removed a fallen tree from the road in front of my neighbors house. It was covered in PI, so I took the New Holland loader tractor and pushed it into the woods.

Need to start doing leaves, they are about 1/2 down at my elevation (500 ft).
