Time to head out and check the OWB. Than off to get some coffee for my 2-2 1/2 hour drive......

Going to be a long day here I’m guessing. Wind is already blowing with some rain and it’s hanging around 40 with the wind increaseing to 30-40 mph gusts to 55

 

Monin... ... coffee's made (and inhaled) before we lose power here. Wind is howling. Weather guessers are guessing it's gonna get worse over the next couple hours. Yeeee haaaawww...

 

I have to work 5-12 hour days this week! Even worse, I have to leave the house at 7 am and I get home at 9:15 pm.

 

Our area got hammered with weather overnight. Wind gusts probably over 60+. Trees down everywhere. Hazardous driving with puddles and a lot of unmarked downed wires and trees. Once the sun is up we'll see the real damage. I think half the area is without power. Some roads could use plow trucks to clear the leaves and branches.

 

Mornin' Hoarders. 40 and heavy, heavy rain with BIG wind. It pounded down here all night. intake underway. They say there is snow and sleet 20 miles north of us. Hope it stays up there. Everyone have a good and SAFE day.

 

The back side of this storm shut off like a light switch. Wind subsided as well as the rain in a very short time. Almost 70 degrees here. At least not real cool October weather.

 

You got it worse than we did, just a few dead branches down in the yard, and we never lost power. Round 2 for wind this afternoon, though.

 

Fires nice and warm this am. 35 outside.


Once the sun is up, I'll be digging up some landscape light wiring trying to find a cut in the wire. Homeowner says he must have hit it installing Halloween decor.

If it's not where he thinks, I'll be spending some cash on some sort of electrical tester that works below ground. Anyone know of a solution for that?

 

Boston news station is in the area. This silver maple split open. Lots of rot inside. One leader looks like it is on the house.


Tried a side road to get around it...

 

The chippers will show up in no time. On my street, one side has power (mine) and the other does not. My neighbor across the street has a pine limb down. Trash day today, and he seems to think the city will take this fencing , NOT.

 

This cherry is in the street behind us. Sitting on the power lines.

 

Yikes! They'll show up pretty quick for that, I hope. Are you gonna stand by at the ready to throw some logs in your truck/car/trailer/wheelbarrow?

 

That one is on a side street. I think it will be a Nat Grid job where it is sitting on the wires. I'll see what hits the ground when done. There is a lot of wood to be had around here.

 

Frosty morning with fog lurking out on the water waiting to cover the land. No wind here. Probably have another gorgeous sunny day. I laid on the couch all day yesterday so maybe I will get a few things done today. Foot is feeling fine but I think I have bruising starting to really show up. I haven't been able to wear a shoe yet. Hopefully by Wednesday.

 

Off work today.

Spent a little time in the tree stand before the rain chased me out of the woods.

Got two deer front quarters going in the smokehouse. Just boned out the rear quarters and got them in the freezer.

Going to tinker around indoors the rest of the day.

Road trip tomorrow.
