Yesterday I took the bike in to get new tires put on; 36* when I left :shiver:, thank goodness for heated gear and layering.

Then came home and cleaned up all the summer stuff from the yard and garage and put it away. Went to TSC and bought a forged scraper for use breaking up ice and chopping up the hard burm that forms on the driveway from the roof dumping. Figure that will help save the edge for my flat shovel that I normally use.

Thought I would clean the P43, but checked the ash pan and it has a couple of weeks to go. Then last night I decided to fire up the P61a to warm up the basement a bit and figured enough heat would come up to keep the P43 from firing overnight (I was right).

Have massive leaves in the yard again but they were too wet to mow so I left them. Now it is raining again and we are supposed to get hammered with high winds and up to 3" of rain in the next 24 hours so will be doing indoor stuff today - or reading (which, when I think about it, is still indoor stuff :D)

I havent had enough build up to use a hammer. Maybe because I scrape while its burning too-pretty much quick scrape every time I put in pellets. It only takes a few seconds.

Still using the lawnmower for leaf pickup yesterday. At least one more round left to go.

Thought about the hoses but remembered several years ago when I was doing a brake job in my driveway in November while someone else was burning a brush pile. They came over and said-I think its getting away from me- as it was burning leaves on the woods floor. The hose took quick care of that. No burning planned but JIC............ holding off a bit.

Stove cleaned and test burned. Startup, High, Low and shutdown. All working just fine.

On startup, it was taking a little bit longer than usual but I figured that was due to the pellets sitting in the hopper all summer. Putting tools away while waiting then I remembered the rag in the OAK air tube at the wall thimble to keep out humidity.

Removed the rag and had fire in about 15 seconds after that

Can use a new flame guide as it is starting to deteriorate just a little and will probably keep going now that it has started.

Thanks CleanFire and SmokeyTheBear , it's been on lower levels the last day or so and I was not up for chipping at it, but before it gets colder here this weekend I'll get in there. I have the exact flathead screwdriver in mind, and WWW uses a diamond bit on the chainsaws, so I can scare that up too. Just SOOOOO relieved we can try as is and hope, tearing the stove apart sounds like a big project.

    :handshake:

Yeah. They feel really weird when new. No going hard on the curvy road to work until I got a few more miles on them. Well, no riding to work until later in the week anyway ;)
